2019 Audi Q3 arrives with new Q8-derived styling

After the A4 and TT, it’s the Audi Q3 that goes to the salon to get an update for the new model year. The 2019 Audi Q3 arrives as the crossover’s second generation. The first generation was released in 2011 and had been languishing since without major updates.

The design of the 2019 Audi Q3 is a smaller version of the largest SUV in its family, the Audi Q8. The total design is quite athletic and fits the compact size is the Q3. Up front, the headlamps look similar to the ones sported by the Audi A3 sedan. The wheels on the Audi Q3 can be 17, 18 or 20-inch units depending on the variants and the chosen options. The Q3 has grown in size as well, adding 96.5mm to its length and 76mm to its wheelbase.

At the oily side of things, there are three engine options globally to choose from. But the details regarding these are not out yet. The 2.0-litre turbo inline-four engine with 190 and 230 hp outputs must most certainly make its way into the 2019 Audi Q3. The seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission along with Audi’s Quattro AWD system must also be offered. The 2019 Q3 also gets a six-mode “dynamic handling system” which offers different drive modes to choose from.

The Q8’s touch can be found in the interior of the 2019 Q3 as well. There is an 8.8-inch touchscreen that sits atop the HVAC controls. The screen can be upgraded to a 10-inch unit. Another 12.3-inch screen works as the Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster. The infotainment system sports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.

Expect a UAE and GCC debut early next year.
