Toyota Innova 2012 facelift debuts in Asia
If you’d been waiting for the next-generation Toyota Innova with breathless anticipation, your struggle is now over. The 2012 Toyota Innova was just unveiled at the 2011 Bangkok Auto Show, and it is simply a facelift.
As reported by Malaysian site PaulTan, the facelifted 2012 Innova is Toyota’s fourth new model unveiled this year, as per our last count. With this, Toyota’s trio of Thailand-built vehicles, the Fortuner, Hilux and Innova, all get a minor facelift after five years in the market.
Mechanically, we suspect nothing has changed. The same 2.7-litre 4-cylinder engine is expected to be offered in Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Middle East markets, where the Innova has grabbed a niche among taxi firms and large families for its ability to carry 8 passengers on the cheap. Features such as navigation and diesel engines are reserved for the East-Asian home market.
Keep track of GCC updates in the Toyota Innova buyer guide.

my wife’s family owns a top-spec Innova in India..its a 2.5L turbodiesel mated to 5-speed manual gear..tho the engine performance is not really on par with competition, the muv as a whole is the best vehicle for Indian roads n it’s conditions..a/c is superb, ride quality is outstanding, fuel efficiency is something whch Tatas n Mahindras cannot match (tho they hav more power), engine is refined, smooth n mostly silent, a/c is best in class matched by none, and it is affordable too..
regarding this new facelifted exterior n interior – they hav transformed it into piece of junk! but heck, i would still buy that if I am in India..

Why I like Innova in India….. Comfort of driving, extremely silent diesel engine, bad roads are felt smooth…….

what is this strange dashboard?..it looks like it comes with a taxi screen by default 🙂

Innova is perfect for India; when we went there , we had the option of doing a 450 km round tirp on a Tata Indica or a Innova. We were just 2 so the rental guy suggested Tata but we chose Innova and didnt regret it as it was all smooth, I even fell asleep on an Indian highway which is a miracle, and best of all, we were bullying all the Indicas instead of being bullied

The new Fortuner & Hilux launched are better updates than the Innova.
Hilux gets a ditto albeit smaller version of the Land cruiser Headlamps & other minor updates in the interior as well.
But the Fortuner’s look has been changed altogether, it getting an all-new nose, fender & headlamps which have been stretched as well as a wider grill again to resemble the Landy.
The tail lamps are also clear lens now with interior trim & seat updates.
Of interest is the bump in power in diesel power trains which reflects a similar trend should follow in the petrol ones as well hopefully.
End 2011 will be a repeat of 2006 end…with Toyota bracing for launches of Yaris, Hilux, Innova, Fortuner & the All-New Camry.
2012 seems to look good for Toyota..

i wish the new 2012 land cruiser is bigger and tougher with a new 6.2 v8 engine and a bigger body like those in nissan patrol.land cruiser seems to b small and “off roady” and not much luxurious when compared to its rivals like nissan armada, nissan patrol, infiniti qx, cadillac escalade etc. they need 2 add a new much improved xenon hid front lamps and a all round monitor view, using 4 cameras at front, back, left n right sides. lexus also requires the same requests.

I am on the lookout for a passenger mover for home / guests use and am considering the Innova as an option. After my test drive, the thing that hit me the most was the vibration on account of the diesel engine. As soon as you ignite, the car steering and the gear stick vibrates a lot. Obviously my current experience is with quieter petrol sedans. Any other options on the block within this price range?
