Infiniti Pit Stop Challenge with Red Bull F1 racecar

Infiniti sponsored the Red Bull Renault F1 team this year, and as luck would have it, Sebastian Vettel went ahead and won the 2011 championship already on points alone. Now Infiniti is celebrating in the UAE with a “pit stop” competition.

The prize is a VIP trip to watch the Abu Dhabi Formula One GP, including a chauffeur-driven drive to Yas Marina, pit lane walk and a tour of Red Bull’s pit garage. To win, you have to enter the Pitstop Challenge, which involves changing the wheels and tyres of a replica Red Bull RB7 race car. The RB7 replica was built specifically for use in the Infiniti Pitstop Challenge. Entrants will be equipped with a hand-held air gun with safety goggles and gloves.

Each team of two people can enroll their entries online at www.InfinitiPitstopChallenge.com or sign up on the day at the competition venues during the evenings. The Infiniti Pitstop Challenge schedule includes Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai (19th Oct to 22nd Oct), Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi (28th Oct to 29th Oct), Dubai International Financial Centre (31st Oct to 3rd Nov) and the Dubai International Motor Show (10th Nov to 14th Nov).

All results will be fed into the central system and can be viewed throughout the competition period at their website. The overall competition winner for the F1 prize will be declared on 12th November, with another winner chosen on 14th November at the Dubai International Motor Show with a different unspecified prize.

  1. Sounds like fun. DriveArabia team??

  2. I wouldn’t even be able to lift that tyre… O_O

  3. 10 seconds to get the job done, last I checked..

Those tires are light weight and single bolt, it is doable..

You guys make it sound like they told to change the tire of a land cruiser stuck in sand..

  4. I bet, many of us dont even know how to change the tyres of the vehicles we drive.. Thanks to the insurance company’s flat tire service..:)
Good opportunity to practice tyre changing skills, & if lucky might as well get the prizes mentioned…

I’ve never actually had a flat tyre ever. These F1 bolts are different though, as someone mentioned. Just one lug per tyre, with an automated gun to remove them.

    • Some of those recovery guys says 1 hour to reach your breakdown place.

It took me 15 mins to change the camry’s tire which tore apart.

I am happy with the second option.

  5. im up for it…………..why dont we make it an official meet up of drive arabia on this friday at JBR? the time is from 8pm till 12am @ JBR
