2010 Ford Taurus revealed at Detroit show
In Ford’s GCC line-up, the Taurus badge had pretty much disappeared at the turn of the century. However, the name was kept alive in the United States, as the car we know as the Five Hundred was sold as the Taurus in America. The full-size sedan is a competent but boring car, and Ford went back to the drawing board to completely redesign the model, apparently inspired by the immensely smarter design philosophy of their European division. The result is the 2010 Ford Taurus, unveiled at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show yesterday.
European styling combined with American Ford’s three-bar grille define the front end design, while the rear seems inspired from recent auto-show concepts. A range of alloy wheels, from 17-inch to 20-inch, are available.
The front-wheel-drive Taurus comes standard with the Five Hundred’s carryover Duratec 3.5-litre V6, with 263 hp and 337 Nm of torque. Fuel economy is now aided by a two-speed fuel pump and “Aggressive Deceleration Fuel Shut-Off” technology. All models get a 6-speed automatic, with higher trim levels getting a manual-shift feature. All-wheel-drive is optional. Upcoming plans involve offering an optional EcoBoost 3.5-litre turbocharged V6, with around 355 hp and all-wheel-drive.
Handling has supposed improved to ‘sporty’ levels, while still offering good ride quality. A new SR1 suspension configuration option enables the use of 19-inch and 20-inch wheels, while retaining ride and handling.
The 2010 Taurus features an impressive set of standard and available technologies in addition to an attractive new interior. They include Adaptive Cruise Control with Collision Warning, Intelligent Access with Push Button Start, MyKey parental programmability, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert, Rain-Sensing Wipers, EasyFuel capless refueling, Ford SYNC multimedia entertainment, and Voice-Activated Navigation with SIRIUS Travel Link.
Ford claims that the price of the car will be exactly the same as before, which means it should cost between Dhs 100,000 and Dhs 130,000 when it hits Dubai and GCC showrooms in late 2009.

cool car with nice options.

Look Like Honda accord fully copied things from the accord and also the 3.5 6cyl usually same as the slow honda accord. Nothing looks good in this car because its a copied version of Accord. In Ford i only like the shelby mustang and even that mustang is also not orignally by ford its modified by shelby.Ford are big losers they cannot make things on their own just copy from others.
:)
Beautiful…
:)
But the front end is similar to the mondeos….
shafiq
nice car but is it as big as the 500 ? the ford 500 is spacious, as a BMW 7 series.
Mashfique excellent flash slide show feature.

i’m still wonderin frm whre it looks like an Accord or the Camry!! 😐
BJD(Boris)
some ppl are just trained to look at minute details that resemble other cars. I have a good amount to say to them but I’d rather not start an arguement here and just let people say what they feel. 😉
BJD(Boris)
O and just to make it clear, I too don’t see resemblence to the jap D-seg sedans…
Salem
It more of a mondeo but good design

Mashfique, I got question for you.
You drove the Evolution X and the CR8, they are similarly priced but different personality.
which car are you going to choose and why? as person who loves to drive as well as practicality
shafiq
BTW the new 2009 cr8 comes with 6.2 ltr v8 engine and new 6 speed auto tranny its 190000dhs in dubai
Salem
It is about similar price of the Evo auto with the insurance.
But I think they are similar Evo is abit cheaper by 10K.
As well as comparing the two cars, also they have to be comparison between the dealer al habtoor or the chevy dealer which seems competitive.

I drove the Evo for too little time, on a super-smooth track. Speaking generally about the manual versions, I believe the CSV is easier to drive with softer controls, so the body pains less. Anyone with a manual REAL sports car (not an Accord/Altima coupe) would know what I mean. The CSV is also more spacious and more comfortable, but probably has a lower cornering limit than the smaller AWD Evo.
Salem
but as for a person who taking long trips is better to take the CR8. Thanks Mashfique
I hope you make a forum as well as owners review of the car it would be a good hit your website.
As reliability for both car it very hard to predict which one is better.
blazy maurtilles
looks like the ford has finlly arived back from designing stupid suvs 😯
Raj
The car has real great interior and exterior luks ….though the exterior has similarity to a Japanese best seller (but not Honda )..what wud be cost of this car..??
ROJ
Its funny… but why are negative reviews deleted on this site… Im expressing myself freely without offending anyone… Yet u delete one of the least offending posts ive ever done here..
“Taurus is one of the names that made people think twice before buying a Ford”… Explain to me what i said wrong… Thank You..
Mashfique Hussain Chowdhury
Nothing to do with your comments, ROJ. There was a b-hole here who was trying to impersonate many other people using different fake email addresses.
But in your case, the comment you are referring to is in ANOTHER Taurus post.
ROJ
Sorry my bad..

Looks like a Toyota Camry and I’ve never been a fan of Front wheel drive. Maybe for small vehicles. At 3.5 litres, it would never give a true sporty type of ride, especially on a slippery wet road.
