Nissan GT-R gets new 2014 Track Edition

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Nissan has yet again gone one step further, as they released details on the their latest offspring, the 2014 GT-R ‘Track Edition’. Debuting at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, the dedicated racer ditches many of its sensible features in search of the title of the perfect street-legal race-car.

The car eliminates the back seats in the quest for lower curb weight, and a set of more seriously-bolstered front buckets keep occupants planted once the going gets twisty. It also features special brake cooling guides, front spoiler with carbon-fibre air ducts, and specially-tuned suspension. Engineers also swapped the stock bits for special ‘Bilstein DampTronic’ shocks and paired them with more aggressive springs.

The 3.8-litre V6 engine still delivers a massive 545 hp and 627 Nm of torque, and still relies on the split-second quickness of the standard GT-R’s 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Nissan says that the car will be built in limited numbers, and that only 150 examples of the 2014 Nissan GT-R Track Edition will land on American shores. So far they haven’t mentioned the numbers for the Middle-East, so fingers crossed.
