2015 Subaru Legacy debuts at Chicago Auto Show

2015 Subaru Legacy
We’re certainly not disappointed, but the Subaru Legacy is not the design from the rather awesome concept shown off last year. It too, like the WRX has gone for a rather conventional look for 2015. The sedan debuted at the Chicago Auto Show this week

The 2015 Legacy will come with two engine choices, namely a 2.5-litre Boxer 4-cylinder producing 175 hp and 236 Nm of torque, and a 3.6-litre 6-cylinder Boxer unit producing a gutsy 256 hp and 335 Nm of torque. Both engines will be coupled to Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT transmission.

In terms of design, the Subaru Legacy certainly does possess the characteristics of the concept shown off back in December, but the toning down does take off the menacing looks. Still, the hexagonal grille at the front seems to be the new corporate look Subaru will keep for a while.

Notably, the all-wheel drive system in the new Legacy gets the Active Torque Vectoring system which first featured in the WRX models. Also, it grows in length by 41 mm over the current Legacy. They even claim that the new car will be smoother and quieter courtesy of new acoustic windshield, liquid-filled engine mounts, thicker panels in strategic locations and expanded use of foam insulation and floor damping material.

Inside, the Legacy will treat the passengers with either a new 6.2-inch capacitive touchscreen or a 7.0-inch version with added navigation facility. There’s also standard rear-view camera and Subaru’s EyeSight forward camera system. However, we’re not sure whether the vehicle will pack all these features as standard when sold here.

The 2015 Subaru Legacy is expected to make its entry into UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC by the end of this year, or by early 2015.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the Subaru Legacy buyer guide.

  1. Interior is better than exterior!

  2. headlights are stolen from chevy malibu

  3. feeling confused seeing this car….i think while designing the exterior they copied from more number of cars than the koreans

  4. Front face is exactly same as some model of Ford, similar to Hyundai & Audi.

  5. I always like Subaru and their technologies but here in gulf there is no proper presence and the running cost are same as owning a German car 🙁

    • I like it, check the forester 2014 XT safty on iihs.org and it engine performance, etc.. Amaizing, but it is not available in any gcc as i beleave.

  6. The next eyesight generation will be in this model which makes it # in crash avoidance safty. I’m impressed by how the subaru safty are on the top of most other brands, but on the street almost you can see subaru in gcc, why no good dealers and trims here.

  7. The worst part of Subaru failure in GCC is maintenance cost and parts. In UAE itself parts are not available outside dealer and most of the time if you require some part it will not be in stock placing an order of two or more weeks..

  8. Aint for the GCC….any other country..Subaru makes a lot of sense…but not here unfortunately..

  9. Subaru don’t offer a navigation system, Eyesight , mirror link and some other fetchers so why we have to buy
