ENOC introduce longer petrol hoses, higher-quality diesel in Dubai

Petrol-station chain ENOC said customers in Dubai will soon be able fill fuel on either side of the pumps in a bid to shorten queues.

ENOC plans to extend the petrol pump hoses so that it can easily reach the other side of the car. However, only the hoses for ‘Special’ petrol will be extended. Customers for ‘Super’ petrol will still have to queue up according to where their car’s fuel filler cap is located. The busy stations will be getting the new longer hoses first, but eventually all stations will have it.

The concept of longer hoses is not new, as ADNOC stations in Abu Dhabi has had them for years now. However, this means the days of long lines of Japanese and American cars waiting on one side of the pump as owners of European cars whizz by on the other side, will be over now in Dubai, at least at ENOC stations. The company pulled out of Sharjah after having a supply crisis there a few years ago.

Also introduced is ultra-low-sulphur ‘Green Diesel’ at all ENOC petrol stations. The new diesel is in line with Euro 5 standards and leaves behind a smaller carbon footprint when compared to using conventional fuels. This also means some of the cool turbocharged diesel-powered cars from Europe can finally be safely run in the UAE, we’re guessing. It is unclear at the moment if sister-brand EPPCO as well as rivals Emarat and ADNOC have better diesel on the cards, or are already offering it.
