2016 Cadillac ATS-V revealed ahead of LA Auto Show
The LA Auto Show is just around the corner, and lot of new cars are expected to be previewed in the coming weeks prior to their official unveiling at Los Angeles later this month. One such preview is of the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V and ATS-V Coupe.
The new ATS-V will use the twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre V6 picked straight from the CTS-V Sport. And it doesn’t stop there. Unlike it’s bigger sibling, the ATS-V will produce a staggering 455 hp and 603 Nm of torque and the engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The engine has been revamped to get the extra hp. The upgrades include titanium connecting rods, two water-to-air intercoolers, titanium turbines for the turbochargers, an additional radiator dedicated to cooling the gearbox and electronically locking differential. The car is also expected to ride on wide Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and a suspension system that’s 50% more stiff.
The ATS-V looks similar to the spy shots released on the internet some days ago. Except, we believe Cadillac took some time to beef up the looks with that heat extractor on the hood and the wide stance. Performance packages will be available as well.
It should debut in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries sometime later next year.
