2016 Chevrolet Silverado facelift announced
Chevrolet has revealed the 2016 Silverado facelift. Changes made are mainly to the front end of the full-size pickup, after a lukewarm response to the all-new 2014 model that was overshadowed by the new aluminium-bodied Ford F-150 just a year later.
Changes to the exterior include reshaped fog-lights and a body-coloured strip across the middle of the front-grille. The front also includes dual LED daytime running lights and the front hood has been slightly reshaped as well, with a front lip that seems lower than ever. However, only one picture of the Z71 trim level has been released by Chevy, so the other trim levels could look different.
For the interior, it adds the latest Chevy MyLink software which includes both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with extra safety-related technologies.
Mechanically, the only change is that the 8-speed automatic transmission will be more widely available across different variants.
The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado should arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries sometime next year.
