Saudi dealer Al Jazirah sets world record using drifting Ford Mustangs

Al Jazirah Vehicles Agencies brought attention to the global campaign for breast cancer awareness with a Guiness World Record for the “world’s largest tyre-mark image” of a breast-cancer logo. It was done using two Al Jazirah Ford Racing Team Ford Mustangs driven by Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani and Muath Al-Essa.

The two drivers drew a breast cancer logo which measured 883.98 square metres, and apparently exceeded the expectations of the judge by 300 square metres beyond the required measurements to achieve the first official record.

Organised by the Saudi dealer for Ford, this is apparently the 57th world record for Saudi Arabia, and was part of a wider initiative to support Saudi-based charities supporting breast cancer patients in the country and to promote the importance of early detection of breast cancer, as well as to show that drifting could be practiced safely on specialised tracks with properly-setup vehicles, according to Al Jazirah president, Sheikh Abdullah bin Fahad Al-Kraidees.

The Al Jazirah Ford Racing Team exhibited their drifting skills during a 45-minute period in 600 hp Ford Mustang RTR cars and fitted with tyres designed to emit pink smoke while drifting.

The lead driver was Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani and he was joined by Muath Al-Essa for the twin-drift session.
