Nissan commercial vehicle display at Dubai show

With positive expectations of growth in 2010 in the commercial vehicles industry, Arabian Automobiles, the exclusive dealer of Nissan, Infiniti and Renault in Dubai and the Northern Emirates is displaying its commercial vehicle line-up at the on-going Commercial Vehicles Middle East (CVME). The region’s only specialised trade event for commercial vehicles is taking place from March 9-11 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Nissan commercial vehicle range is on display at the three-day event, with a complete model line-up to suit all businesses. The display includes the Nissan Pick-Up, Urvan Microbus, Urvan Panel Van, Civilian Bus and the Navara Pickup.

Speaking during the opening of the event, Michel Ayat, CEO of Arabian Automobiles commented, “The commercial vehicle industry is a promising sector showing consistent growth over the last few years. Despite a 15-20% fall in sales in the industry due to the economic downturn, the market looks set to regain 5-10% growth within this year.”

The Nissan brand has over the years developed a diverse line-up of commercial vehicles which is popular in the commercial industry and well-appreciated among its users.

Nissan Pick-up

The Nissan Pickup is equipped with effortless power steering that helps make driving easier and improves maneuverability. A high quality radio/cassette stereo system and a powerful air conditioning system make journeys more comfortable.

Each Nissan Pickup model comes with a choice of either a 2.4-litre gasoline engine or an all-new 2.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Nissan Pickup is also available in Single or Double cab formats.

Nissan Urvan

The Nissan Urvan boasts unique features, such as the high performance A/C, added to the high quality ambience as well as the roominess of the compartment, provides passengers with the feeling of top quality comfort, flexibility, convenience and a sense of real world safety. Nissan Navara

Double-cab Navara is available in a 4WD & 2WD models in Nissan showrooms. The 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder, 16-valve petrol engine turns out 154 hp at 5,200 rpm and 24.6 kg-m torque at 2,000 rpm, while the turbo diesel equivalent produces 172 hp at 4,000 rpm and torque output of 42 kg-m at 2,000 rpm.

One-time luxuries for pick-ups, such as cruise control, premium trim and upholstery, are available as options on the Navara. The double cab seats five while still providing ample storage space in the rear load bay. Inside, comfort complements the exterior ruggedness, with superior fittings and finishes having overtaken the Navara’s early commercial origins.

The Navara is equipped with either a 5-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual transmission. Some of the key features include power door locks, front fog lamps, power windows, keyless entry, parking sensors, alloy wheels, guard frame protector, dual airbags, and anti-lock braking. With a one piece frame construction the Navara is one of the most rugged vehicles in its class.

Nissan Civilian

The Civilian’s exterior styling, not only sets a new standard with its good looks but also with its practicality and durability. The Civilian boasts a selection of unique exterior features such as a high, wide entrance, a large windshield, radial tires for all-weather grip, and automatic doors in your choice of sliding or folding versions.

The Civilian is also equipped with several safety features like a 3-point seat belt for the driver, 2-point seat belt for the front passenger, and 2-point for all other passengers, large-capacity front ventilated discs and rear drum brakes for solid stopping power.
