First Look: 2025 Geely Starray in the UAE
AGMC, the official dealer for Geely vehicles in the UAE, recently launched the all-new Geely Starray. The Starray will sit between the Tugella and the Okavango, providing consumers with another compact SUV option.
The exterior design features a massive front grille with the headlights embedded in it. Geely claims they use the industry’s first “particle ray headlights” for the Starray.
The LED light runs across the top of the grille and sides of the front fascia, doing a nice light show when you unlock the car. The rear design is also interesting, with sharp edges and the “flying arrow” full-width taillights.
Other exterior features include 20-inch silver and black alloy wheels and a rear spoiler.
Inside, the Starray gets a huge 13.2-inch screen for the infotainment system. The seats offer multiple adjustments, lumbar support and height settings. Other features include seat ventilation and a head-up display.
Trunk space in the Starray ranges from 650-1610 litres.
Under the hood is a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, which is the same engine used in the Okavango. It produces about 218 hp and 325 Nm of torque.
The Starray is based on Geely’s Compact Modular Architecture, the brand’s flexible vehicle platform that can adjust according to the vehicle’s requirements. It has already been used in several applications, including the Volvo XC40, Polestar, and Lynk & Co models.
Safety features for the Geely Starray include a 360-camera, adaptive cruise control, Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB).
