First Look: 2025 Kia Sportage L launched in the UAE

The Kia Sportage has been an important model for the Korean brand. The current generation was launched in 2021 and has been a popular choice for compact SUV buyers. In 2025, Kia launched the Sportage L or the Grand Sportage version in the UAE and GCC, offering more legroom and headroom.

Kia Sportage long-wheelbase

In other markets, it is called a Sportage long-wheelbase (LWB). The 2025 Sportage L has 80 mm more rear legroom and 7mm more headroom. It measures 4,660 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,665 mm in height.

Looking at the long-wheelbase model, you will notice that the window after the C-Pillar extends further to the rear and the longer rear door. Also, the back bumper has a slightly different design.

Standard exterior features on the LX trim include LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, a roof rack, a rear spoiler, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The EX gets an additional panoramic sunroof, indicators on the rearview mirrors, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The top SX model gets a powered tailgate and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The Sportage L with the X-Line package gets a large, blacked-out grille with a star-chain design.

Interior

The interior features a 12.3-inch screen for the infotainment system, which includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. The mid-option EX adds folding mirrors, semi-leather seats, and a wireless charger. Only the top SX trim gets full-leather seats, while both front seats are powered and ventilated.

2025 Kia Sportage L engine specifications

Under the hood are two engine choices—a 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre engine, both 4-cylinder turbocharged motors connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre turbo produces 197 hp and 253 Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre turbo unit churns out 263 hp and 353 Nm of torque.

Safety

Standard safety features on the SX include front driver and passenger airbags, stability control, a rearview camera, and front and rear parking sensors. The EX and SX get front, side, and curtain airbags.

The SX also gets added safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and following assist, forward collision avoidance assist, blind spot monitor and avoidance assist, and surround view monitor.

Kia Sportage Prices

The long-wheelbase Kia Sportage 2025 prices in the UAE start from AED 99,654 for the 1.5-litre turbo SX trim. The top LX trim costs AED 138,495. The 2.0-litre turbo base model starts from AED 113,400 and tops out at AED 149,100.
