Renault Sandero 2012 Overview
Essentially a rebadged version of the Romanian-built Dacia Sandero that has been trundling around Europe since 2007, this hatchback is based on the same platform as the Renault Logan sedan. The Renault Sandero is more modern-looking than the Logan sedan, but still a very simple car aimed at the entry-level sub-compact segment. Originally designed in France for the Brazilian market, its claim to possible fame is that it is more spacious than its price competitors. However, compared to the Logan, it has a slightly shorter wheelbase. Storage options are decent, with the spare wheel underneath the car freeing up boot space, and a folding rear seat-back. The front-wheel-drive Sandero is equipped with a 1.6-litre engine, mated to a simple 4-speed automatic. The Sandero also seems better-equipped than the Logan, with ABS and better sound-deadening materials on offer, alongside an MP3 stereo, front power windows, central locking, cloth seats and one airbag.
