Ford went back to the drawing board to completely redesign the Ford Five Hundred, and with inspiration from their European division, they came up with an all-new Taurus for 2010. The Ford Taurus receives a mid-cycle makeover for 2013 that includes a refreshed design and numerous exterior and interior upgrades for better fuel economy, more technology and sharpened driving dynamics. The full-size sedan is powered by a carryover 3.5-litre V6 with some fuel-economy enhancements, while being mated to a 6-speed automatic and front-wheel-drive, with all-wheel-drive optional. The Taurus SHO model, with the 3.5-litre turbocharged "EcoBoost" V6 engine and all-wheel-drive returns. Standard features include power windows, electric mirrors, CD/MP3 stereo, cloth upholstery, 18-inch wheels, and more. Features on higher trim levels include 19-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, power seats, SYNC voice-controlled stereo with Bluetooth phone, parking sensors, sunroof, capless fuel filler, keyless entry with starter button, cruise control, dual-zone automatic a/c, rain-sensing wipers and more. The SHO gets a unique grille, larger rear spoiler, additional body trimmings and standard 20-inch alloys. Standard safety features include front and side-curtain airbags, stability control and ABS with EBD, while cross-traffic monitoring, adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring are available on higher trims.
