GM launch cars and trolley bags in Dubai
General Motors had the largest number of new car launches at the Dubai Motorshow, with a new model for almost all its divisions. So is the crowd in the picture gathering to get a glimpse of the new Cadillac CTS or the Chevy CSV CR8? Nope, these cheap losers are running to get free GM trolley bags.
GM held a long press conference today on a day reserved for press people and possibly trade visitors. They unveiled the Chevy Volt concept, the Chevy Camaro concept, the Caddy CTS, the Caddy Escalade Middle East edition, the GMC Terrain, the Saab 9-3 Aero and the Chevy Aveo 5. I could see people carrying TV cameras and people in business suits in the audience, all nervously eyeing the GM freebie desk set up alongside the GM stage, waiting for the speeches to be over so they can jump over each other and get their free trolley bag.
To top off this sad display by press/trade people, the “Middle East” show was littered with white women in skimpy clothes, as automakers tried to garner attention to their boring stands. I didn’t even take photos of the Maybach Laundrylist because it had women glued all over it. The only displays worth mentioning are the cool Land Rover LR2 on a moving platform, the Renault Clio cutaway and a few others. The damn Nissan GT-R was locked and so was the Lexus LX570.
All in all, I am glad I didn’t have to pay to get in, and I was happy to drive off in my V8 Jeep which I had to park in the free sand-and-gravel parking lot a few kilometres away, with no sign of the shuttle bus service (which will probably start properly from tomorrow). Still, it should be a good day out for peeps who like shiny new cars. Photo coverage and details of new cars coming soon.

this is dubai motorshow or just for GM!!!! and when they will finish this event. tomrw am going to Dubai AIR show. and after that am going to that thing, who knows!!! maybe i will have my own trolley.loool.

All the cars were launched on press day. No special mention for the CSV CR8 on stage (or I missed it), but the car is there. Don’t know if they’ll hand out trolley bags to the general public though.
