2009 Toyota iQ for European market
The production-ready Toyota iQ will be shown for the first time at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show soon. Based on an earlier concept, details are still sketchy about this European-market car.
Designed to offer a better alternative to the Smart ForTwo, it is half a metre longer than its competition. Europe, with its tight congested city streets and heavily taxed petrol, should embrace this car, expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre engine which can turn on and off automatically depending on whether the car is moving. A lower price than the Smart should seal the deal.
