Opel Insignia OPC 2010 revealed in Europe

2010 Opel Insignia
GM’s Opel division, all but forgotten in the GCC, has released a power-packed midsize sedan in Europe, called the Opel Insignia OPC. Good looks, 300+ hp turbocharged engine, 4×4 technology, below 6 seconds 0-100 kph and tested extensively in the famous Nurbrgring circuit, everything sounds like a winner, except maybe the name.

Also to be sold in Britain as the Vauxhall Insignia VXR, the top-spec Insignia comes with a 2.8-litre V6 engine that churns out 325 hp with the help of single twin-scroll turbocharger. This helps it jump to 100 kph in a claimed 5.8 seconds and gives it a top speed limited to 250 kph.

The exterior gets many of its styling features from the concept featured in the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. It gets 19-inch standard rims or optional 20-inch ones, and gets Brembo brakes with colour-keyed calipers wrapped around the drilled brake discs.

Whether the Insignia will be sold in the UAE is not known. To check out the latest prices for Opel in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, check out the Opel buyer guide.

  1. gr8 and nice looking car..

  2. Like the car because its fast!! By looking at the current price of opel vectra, i think it will cost more than 130K because its almost twice as powerful as the vectra and ten times better looking. If I am right about the price, it will not have much sales because of opels resale value in UAE. Hope they launch it here so i can get a used one. 🙂

((Mash, apart from being the senior editor, if your the web designer of this website.. then.. Mashallah.. your doing an excellent job man! 🙂 ))

  3. nice car;if it costs more than 30000$,it wont be successful.thats my opinion.

  4. Nice Look its beautiful car i ever saw from opel wow i would buy this car at any cost even if its opel i really liked the shape of this car .

  5. Opel Insignia is one of the best that opel has ever produced, till now, this car won over 6 world prizes, as best car of the year , best design of the year,..etc, its a very powerful car producing 325 bhp from a 2.8 liter engine, its very fast, and powerful, why bother to buy Audi S4 and you have this one with half of the price, Audi is afraid about S4 Sales in Europe because of the new generation Insignia OPC, why OPEL Resale in UAE is too low, Because of the dealers like to get easy money and more profit from the other brands they have like Chevrolet and GMC in Ben Hmoodah – Abu Dhabi, as well for Cadillac at liberty – Dubai, american cars are made in australia and india and america, so they are very cheap and its easy to get the profit,

they say the car is too much coast, i wonder why they a basic Vectra for 92000 AED, and in Europe or Germany its 75000 AED including Taxs, think!, its the dealers love of money, they cannot deal with a German car like the dealer of Mercedes or Audi and VW is doing, Golf is expensive among it class, why does it sell, ask the dealer ?!

Dealer ship for Opel here is ugly, they broke it already it needs a massive work to get what it deserve as a very good car..

hopefully it will be given to a better dealer ship sense GM owns now only 35% of OPEL now, American control will be much less, hopefully as they promised to loose control of Opel, to be the best car in Germany like the old times in 1935..

OPEL is a very good car for the quality you will take, as long as Dealership will be corrected.

  6. design concept borrows heavily from the BMW 5 series versions.

  7. Oh! Nice choice for those who don’t want to pay extra money for prestigious labels such as Mercedes,BMW,and Audi.
Terrific grip, immense stability, and bank-vault like rigidity with some suppleness make her one of most desirable sport sedans in the segment.
She costs about 59000US$ in EU market, roughly same as the likes of VW Passat R36,Infiniti G37,and parallel-imported Lexus IS350;much cheaper than the Audi S4 and the Mercedes C350CGI. Namely she’s very value for money, yet her CO2 rating is obviously higher than those of BMWs and Audis of similar performance,so penalty tax is inevitable.
This respectable Opel Insignia series won’t come to Japan,my country, due to absence of Opel dealer network. That’s regrettable! In Gulf countries, local importers of GM-group products seem to prefer selling American brands as Cadillac and Chevrolet to distributing Opel offerings. For Arabian people,American oil suckers are more favourable than rationally-engineered European automobiles,I could estimate. Such American way of life makes this area a “colony of American capitalism”,doesn’t it?
