Video of the week: Hyundai Genesis sedan drifting


This video was supposed to be a drifting demonstration for the Hyundai Genesis sedan. While the Genesis coupe has already proven itself, the Genesis sedan is a rear-wheel-drive car with two left feet, but it cannot wag its tail even at the hands of professional Formula D drifter Rhys Millen. We can only assume that the softly-sprung sedan does not have an ‘off’ button for the stability control, making it even less sporting than a Lexus LS.

Growing up in Dubai, my memory suggests that the Toyota Crown was cancelled in the UAE by the early ’90s with the arrival of Lexus. However, the Crown soldiered on in its Japanese home market, where it continues to be on sale, competing with their own Lexus LS for conservative fat-cat customers. The fifth-generation Crown Majesta happens to be Toyota’s flagship in Japan.
