Nissan Patrol 2010 to get V6 version soon
Recession and petrol prices be damned, people have been scrambling to place orders for the 2010 Nissan Patrol. In the midst of the frenzy are some of our readers who’ve also been trying to book a Patrol for themselves. They also report price-gouging and promises of a V6 version.
Already, there are two V8 versions of the 2010 Nissan Patrol available to order, one being the heavily-hyped 400 hp 5.6-litre V8 and the other being the unadvertised 317 hp 5.6-litre V8 base model. Our readers in Dubai report the entry-level price to be Dhs 180,000, as promised during the launch event. But our readers in Abu Dhabi are reporting base prices of more than Dhs 210,000 when they called to inquire.
Also interesting is that readers in both cities report that salesmen mentioned a V6 model that will debut later this year. We assume this new base model will house the 270 hp 4.0-litre V6 from the Pathfinder. Of course, this is not to be confused with the older Patrol version that continues to be on sale, with the 4.8-litre inline-6, as a barebones offroader.
Keep track of future updates in the Nissan Patrol buyer guide.

The Nissan agent in Abu Dhabi was always more expensive than Dubai local agent when I lived in the city up to 2005.

I don’t think it should be called “Patrol” it’s damaging the legacy of Patrol. At best it should be called “pathfinder XL” with the front of a Nissan pick up and the rear of a Fortuner. That’s what I see from these pictures. In general, Japanese are going from bad to worse during the last 5 years in terms of design and now quality.

If Koreans provide good quality in their cars, then they have everything that Japanese have and with much better looking cars. If they improve in quality then its going to be a good blow to Japanese auto industry.
Now I think Japanese auto makers should hire some car designers. I dont think they have any, or even if they had they fired them 5 years back maybe.
All Japanese brands are breaking records of weird looking cars like Honda, Toyota, Nissan. Only Mitsubishi has shown some improvement from Ugly to bad looking cars.

I doubt if any V6 version is going to show up. The engine can be underpowered for that big ass SUV.
marc
not sure wether a strong v6 would be underpowered. obviously by the standards of this waste land you are certaqinyl right. but even look at the LC v6, which is slow but still in high demand.

Well most people own them like they’d own a Merc or Bimmer… So if they can afford prestige for less power out-put they dont mind..
