Volkswagen Golf Cabrio back for 2012

Volkswagen Golf Cabrio back for 2012

The Volkswagen Golf Cabrio, a fabulous gay icon since 1979, was cancelled back in 2002 to the dismay of pink-wearing men and women around the Western world. After years enduring the VW Eos with the folding hard-top, fangirls can rejoice as the real Golf Cabrio is back for 2012.

The 4-seater convertible rides on the same wheelbase as the Golf-based Eos, but has a shorter rear end and a soft top that opens up in 9.5 seconds instead of half-an-hour.

Engines range from a 104 hp 1.6-litre diesel to a 207 hp turbocharged petrol one.

If the 2012 VW Golf Cabrio comes to the UAE, it’ll most likely do so at some point next year.

Keep track of GCC updates in the Volkswagen Golf buyer guide.

  1. mash, why no new vw cars in drivearabia ?

  2. Fugly, i have to agree.

Had visited the VW showroom on SZR a few days back, casually asking about the Golf GTI, R, and Scirocco. To put in simple words, I’ve never experienced such cold and non-chalant behavior with me. To the point that it got annoying, I might have snapped a bit at the manager of the showroom, and left. So considering a VW as next purchase, unlikely. Wishlist: Buying a Golf from VW Dubai

Went to MINI after that, and that visit made my day. VW needs to learn PR, marketing strategies right from stratch. Exponential expansion surely isn’t the only solution. And giving the argument of VW being German, hence maybe the coldness? MINI = BMW = German.
