Toyota Camry 2012 “global” version revealed
If the 2012 Toyota Camry revealed for the U.S. market did not appeal to you, there is now another option. It seems that Eastern Europe will be getting another version of the Camry, and it is this version that is being touted as the “global” version.
This iteration of the 2012 Camry looks a bit more conservative and yet more Lexus-like, but specs remain the same compared to the U.S. version. There is a new 2.5-litre 4-cylinder and a carryover 3.5-litre V6, both mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Available features include a touchscreen multimedia system, adaptive headlights, nine airbags, parking assistant and rearview camera, among others.
This Camry model will debut in Eastern Europe by October. It remains to be seen what features will be offered in the GCC, or even which version comes to the UAE. It is entirely possible that one version may come here as the Aurion instead.
For more details about new features, read about the 2012 Toyota Camry U.S. version.
Keep track of updates in the Toyota Camry buyer guide.

This is some good , but lags a bit from side … front grill and head lights looks a lot like lexus LS …

There goes the “improved” interior. Brown wood inserts with a gray interior is just not eye-pleasing. At least the back looks better.
And the exterior styling looks somewhat Chinese (or maybe it’s the photos?)

That’s a puffed up Corolla, with an Hyundai Azera arse. Don’t like it.
Am digging the new steering wheel though.

i guess this is the new aurion.. as i have noticed in some countries aurion named as camry.
lucid
NO! Aurion is supposed to be a marvel of Australian engineering. This is not as aesthetically pleasing as the Aurion. First looks, with the headlights, it reminded me of a Honda Accord.

Lucid is right!! The very first look from front give exactly the impression of Honda Accord.

i have seen aurion named as camry in malaysia!! that is why i am thinking that this is aurion.

this looks better than the US version, but as Mash said, it may come as aurion and the US spec as camry, but frankly, I think it is better for toyota to offer the same camry as 4 cyl and 6 cyl variants better than offering camry and aurion, or to give the aurion a different interior and dashboard and then it will sell like crazy
KVP
First look resembles a ES. The interiors are done up better than the present gen.
Mus
Looks decent enough. But still behind.Hope this model shows up instead of the other crap model.

daamnn…i’m sooooo in love with the front design!! made me gooo “wooowww” the moment I saw it..back looks a l’il Chinese though…And interior seems good to me – a l’il retro i felt! That front design alone will make me consider buying this if i am planning for a mid-size car!
Elias
back looks weirdd i don’t know if i love it or i hate it
A. Basit
looks like an evolved Aurion
Muhanad Jaff
The rear looks like Mercury Milan
Prado
looks like a mazda 626 1995s model from behind

The Asian/Europen version looks much tastier than the American spec. Do a search on “Toyota Camry Japan 2012” and check out the interior, really tasty indeed – Lexus style…hope this comes to Thailand! Rear lights look a little Benz to me, so nice!

Why do all the US versions look so crappy? The cup holders have been concealed in the Global version which looks so much better.
We are looking at a sedan here and not a sporty crossover. Toyota US Designers need to get real!
