Kia Cerato 2013-2014 fully revealed in time for LA Auto Show

To coincide with the unveiling of the all-new Kia Forte sedan at the LA Motor Show, Kia has revealed details of the version for other markets outside North America, the 2013-2014 Kia Cerato. This model is scheduled to go on sale during the first few months of 2013 at Kia dealerships in many countries around the world.

While the Cerato is a rare sight in the UAE, it has done well in some other Middle East countries, and is also Kia’s most successful overall seller internationally, accounting for 17.9% of Kia’s total 2011 worldwide sales.

Drawn up in America under a European designer, the third-generation Kia Cerato boasts sleeker styling that is 30 mm longer, 15 mm lower and 5 mm wider than the outgoing car, with a 50 mm extended wheelbase. It also features an all-new bodyshell, upgraded equipment, a host of additional convenience and safety features, a more spacious cabin with better quality, improved suspension and an upgraded powertrain line-up that delivers class-leading performance and fuel economy.

Interior comfort is enhanced by lowering the cabin floor and the seats, and by fitting wider front seat cushions with an increased cushion angle for greater thigh support. A choice of black one-tone and grey two-tone cloth or leather upholstery, and two optional ‘color packs’ featuring brown and black or white and black leather, will be offered.

Available options, depending on market, include 10-way powered and ventilated driver’s seat, heated front and rear seats, leather upholstery, powered glass tilt-and-slide sunroof, smart keyless entry with engine start/stop button, Xenon headlamps, Bluetooth® hands-free system with remote controls, manual and dual-zone climate control automatic air-conditioning.

In most markets, the new Cerato customers will be offered a choice of two motors, one a 159 hp 2.0-litre engine, and the other, a 128 hp 1.6-litre engine. Every Cerato model features a 6-speed transmission, manual or automatic. The 2.0-litre Cerato can do the 0-100 kph run in as little as 8.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 kph.

Following the introduction of the all-new Cerato sedan in early 2013, five-door hatchback and two-door coupe variants of the new generation model will go on sale in the second half of 2013. The Cerato sedan should reach Saudi Arabia, Oman and UAE markets before the start of summer next year.

Keep track of GCC updates in the Kia Cerato buyer guide.

  1. Nice improved design. Hope they will improve their after-sales service here as well…

  2. After sales services are tonnes better than Ford’s (or Al Tayer) or Mitsubishi’s or Chevy’s. A friend of mine owns a Sorento since ages and went on desert with it quite often. Guess what? NO ISSUE WITH THE CAR! Needless to start again comparing it with the blue oval ever-braking Fix-Or-Repair-Daily.

  3. Kia Elantra. Seriously,it used to be based on the elantra, but now it’s 99% hyundai elantra.

  4. @Ciprian cars from KIA-HYUNDAi are good. Apparently scheduling of maintenance is bad. Imagine I have to anticipate my kilometer reading and do booking 2-3 weeks ahead of time because they cannot accommodate huge fleet of vehicles. Moreover walk-in customers would not accepted, I tried once and I was rejected. Poor service…

  5. And one thing. I heard from a British friend, they can book their vehicle for just a day! Probably they are just racist!?

Nissan & Toyota are better in service!

  6. I never dealt with nissan service centers but I hear they are very good, and yes, hyundai Kia have few service centers compared to the number of cars they are selling, according to the sales person who sold me the genesis, they are now building “HUGE” service center on Emirates Road that will be ready in one year or 18 months …. we have to wait

  7. I am not so sure about the customer service of KIA…havent heard great things yet

  8. Hi Guys,

Been lurking around the blogs and wondering when is this new face lifted Cerato coming to Dubai?

    Thanks.

  9. I like the KIA-Hyndui new design and looks, eversince they hired the new Head of Designs-Chief Engineer(Tiger-nose).however,Im not sure about the after sales, bcs that’s were potential customers focus is based as well.GET THAT RIGHT’KA-CHINGS ALL THE WAY’Holla daar!!

  10. How much Kia CERATO 2013 Model 1.6 with leather seats?
