Range Rover Long-Wheelbase live debut at L.A. Auto Show

Stealing the show from the other SUV manufacturers this year is Range Rover, as they showed off their new long-wheelbase version for the first time at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and not at the earlier Dubai Motor Show as had been rumoured earlier. 

Buyers now have the option of the purchasing the standard supercharged V8 in long-wheelbase form, which offer customers around 140 mm of extra legroom.

The special Autobiography Black version gets a unique finishing on the front grille and side vents. Alongside that will be badges adorned in black enamel and chrome. There will also be chrome accent finishing on the tailgate and auxiliary vents, and finishing off the executive limo look is the 7-spoke 21-inch high gloss polished wheels.

The Range Rover Long-Wheelbase Autobiography Black incorporates a special seating package. Both front and rear seats are smothered in leather and have seat memory, climate control and massage function. There’s also 18-way adjustability on the front seats.

At the rear are two individual seats with reclining function. There are also two 10.2-inch rear seat entertainment screens at the passengers disposal. They also enjoy a rear center console with electrically-deployed tables covered in black leather. Also on offer is mood lighting, which allows the passenger to set the tone by varying the intensity of the lights from a range of 10 different colours.

The Range Rover Long-Wheelbase Autobiography Black will be a limited-production model, and could cost as much as Dhs 800,000 or more, if it comes to the UAE. You should be able to spot the first ones on the road by mid-2014.
