2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe replaces CL-Class
Following up on the lightly-disguised concept last year, Mercedes-Benz has revealed pictures and specifications of the S-Class Coupe, prior to its official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Subsequently, it means that the company will ditch the CL-Class badge for the S-Class Coupe.
The newcomer will fill in the shoes of the predecessor pretty well. The modern design is complemented by the sloping roofline, pillarless doors and an aggressive stance.
The S-Class Coupe, for now, will be powered by a 4.7-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 449 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Further variants are expected to roll out, but initially only the S 550 Coupe will be available, potentially renamed S 500 Coupe for some markets.
As with any Mercedes-Benz, the S-Class Coupe will also come with more technology than it needs. For instance, there’s the “active curve tilting function” that detects an incoming corner and tilts the car to reduce lateral acceleration. Amongst a huge list of other features, there’s also the “Collision Prevention Assist Plus” technology that initiates automatic braking, should the driver fail to respond.
Inside, the air vents, switches and various trim elements are electroplated in “Silver Shadow” to create a 3D effect. The leather upholstery can be had in an optional “Bengal Red” colour. Another neat feature is “Magic Sky Technology” that allows the panoramic sunroof to be turned from transparent to opaque with the push of a button.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe should enter the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and other GCC markets by the end of 2014, or at least by early 2015.

now that’s a beauty !
Just me
I love most of the car but I would of prefered the rear end tail lights of the new 4 door S-class than those of the soon to be discontinued SLS.
Even though it will compete with the Bentley Continental GT and the Rolls Royce Wraith this car is in a class of its own.
I can’t wait till the convertible; hopefully a hard-top convertible.

Has there been any mention of the convertible?

These LCD screens are awful. Mercedes designers really can not compose lcd screen. Let them take an example of the new Volvo XC90 or VW Passat.
