2015 Mazda 2 revealed with new family face

2016 Mazda 2
The Mazda 2 (or is it Mazda Mazda2?) has been around for a few years now, largely unchanged but not making much of a dent in the GCC market either. But in keeping with Mazda’s new design language, the 2015 model has now received a proper makeover.

Set to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show this October, the Mazda 2 will be launched as a 2015 model in some markets with the Demio badge, but will be held back as a 2016 model for others.

Details are limited at this point, but the Japanese market is getting a new 1.3-litre “SkyActiv” engine. We wouldn’t be surprised if the existing 1.5-litre is carried over for the GCC version though. The new 2 will also include the company’s “MZD” multimedia system and “i-Activsense” safety technology.

It remains to be seen if the Mazda 2 has improved on things like interior space, but at least it looks great inside and out. We’ll see how it is once the 2 comes to the UAE.

What do you think?

  1. Mazda designs are very good, except the placement of the number plates.

  2. It’ll have the news Sky active 1.5l i heard, and a six speed auto (the current model’s biggest set back)

i owned a 2 for 3 years, and as supermini hatchbacks goes, i think it’s the best performer and quality product, more so when you consider its price.

    and this one looks great.

The 1.5-litre SkyActiv is a diesel, as per their press release. Remains to be seen what comes here.

  3. Very nice interiors. Design reminded me of the Audi A3 sedan’s dash

  4. And that resemblance of the exterior to that of an Alfa Romeo isn’t a bad thing.

  5. good interior but the middle screen ruined it, it’s like an ipad being attached to dashboard with a glue

  6. great looks exterior and interior.. impressed
