BMW released the new facelifted version of their entry-level model, the 1-Series.

It’s safe to say the last design of the 1-Series didn’t really appeal to the masses, which is a problem for a car manufactured to sell in bulk. It gets a massive facelift for 2015, with the whole front fascia now getting bigger air intakes, a revised apron and a different front grille. The biggest change has to be the headlight design, which is now thinner and sleeker.

Under the hood, the engines remain the same, with minor tweaks made to improve fuel efficiency. Only the turbocharged 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder unit on the M135i gets a power upgrade, with the total output increasing to 326 hp and 450 Nm of torque.

Inside the 1-Series, it gets new upholstery options, a new 6.5-inch central display and a controller unit mounted on the centre console. There is also an optional navigation system with a bigger controller and a larger 8.8-inch screen. The buttons and knobs have been updated with chrome surrounds while the keypads of the stereo and air conditioning system get a gloss-black detailing finish.

The 2015 BMW 1-Series should make its way into the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries in the near future.

Keep track of all the prices and updates in the BMW 1-Series buyer guide.

Comments

  1. Something about its stance just feels wrong compared to the competition. Still the ugliest BMW saloon.

  2. Ugly from the rear
