McLaren 540C revealed at Shanghai Motor Show

McLaren have released their latest creation, the 540C at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. It is the second release from the Sports Series lineup after the 570S and is set to be the lowest-priced McLaren on offer.

It features a revised aerodynamics package when compared to the 570S, and also features new alloy wheels. For the interior it gets leather-wrapped seats, dashboard and door panels. The infotainment system includes a 7-inch screen, Bluetooth and navigation.

Under the hood, is the usual turbocharged 3.8-litre V8, producing 540 PS (533 hp) and 540 Nm of torque. Power is delivered via a 7-speed automatic gearbox which helps its accelerate from 0-100 kph in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 320 kph.

McLaren have also retuned the dampers of the 540C to make it more suitable for daily driving.

Price is set to be around AED 700,000+. McLaren is said to have started taking orders already, with delivery expected early next year. We should see a few arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries, although it is unknown at this point if they’ll be officially offered here, alongside the 570S.
