Lexus has officially revealed the facelifted 2016 ES sedan, in ES 350 and ES 300h guises.

The new model features a more aggressive version of the Japanese luxury brand’s corporate spindle grille, along with LED daytime running lights in the new bumper. The rear gets a new design bumper and L-shaped taillights. The ES 350 gets rectangular exhaust tips with a chrome finish. Along with new designs for the alloy wheels, new exterior colours are also offered.

The interior gets a few changes such as a new steering wheel, new gear-shifter design and more soft-touch materials around the cockpit. New trim options have also been included.

Under the hood will be the same 272 hp 3.5-litre V6 engine, connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid ES 300h features a 2.5-litre engine connected to an electric motor, which produces a combined output of about 200 hp.

The chauffeur-fleet favourite also gains a new optional safety system which includes Pre-Collision System, Intelligent High Beam headlights, High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist.

The 2016 Lexus ES facelift should arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries before the end of the year.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the Lexus ES buyer guide.

Comments

  1. Are they increasing fuel tank capacity? which is pretty low currently for a 3.5 liter sedan having average fuel economy.

  2. Very small changes. I expected more..
At least an 8 speed transmission would’ve been really great
I guess they don’t want to increase the price of the car, which is already expensive !

    • Lexus ES has always been based on the Camry/Aurion(v6); once the Camry/Aurion are revealed you can expect the specifications of the upcoming ES

  3. What about the GS line, any changes for 2016?
