2016 Kia Sportage 1

Kia has released drawings previewing the all-new 2016 Sportage that will debut on September 17 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

These exaggerated sketches give us an idea on the design direction for Kia’s top-selling little crossover, and the outlook is positively Porsche-inspired.

The interior design is based off of design cues from the latest Optima and Sorento models, with extra touches such as aggressively-bolstered seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, a large touchscreen display and red ambient lighting.

The redone fourth-generation will surely be sharing its platform and mechanicals with the just-launched 2016 Hyundai Tucson, with a 2.0-litre, a turbocharged 1.6-litre and possibly a 2.4-litre, all 4-cylinder motors.

The production model should start hitting UAE, Saudi and other GCC showrooms by the beginning of next year.
