2015 Middle East Car Of The Year (MECOTY) Winners
The 2015 Middle East Car Of the Year (MECOTY) concluded recently with the results being announced at a gala dinner held at the Raffles Hotel in Dubai. The final winners were decided by totalling the scores of a jury panel from 12 different publications around the Middle East, including DriveArabia.com. Individual awards were given to cars according to their categories, with the main 2015 Middle East Car Of The Year award going to the Ford Mustang.
A “Consumer Car of The Year” was awarded to the Kia Sorento, which was decided through voting from the general public on the MECOTY website.
Incidentally, the next MECOTY awards will be held in March alongside the ressurected Abu Dhabi Motor Show and Custom Show next year.

Best Midsize Sedan: Hyundai Sonata
Best Compact Executive Sedan: Jaguar XE
Best Executive Coupe: BMW 4-Series Coupe
Best Compact Executive Performance: Mercedes-AMG CLA 45
Best Midsize Executive Sedan: Infiniti Q70
Best Large Luxury Sedan: Bentley Mulsanne Speed
Best Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV): Nissan Juke
Best Compact SUV: Honda CR-V
Best Compact Premium SUV: Lexus NX 200t
Best Large SUV: Chevrolet Tahoe
Best Premium Performance SUV: Range Rover Sport SVR
Best Truck: GMC Sierra
Best Performance Hatchback: Ford Focus ST

Car of the year for the jury is the mustang
Car of the year for the masses is the Kia Sorento.
Its like dream car vs what you can actually buy.

As per the MECOTY website jury Car of the Year is Sorento and public car of the year decided by voting is Mustang! In this article it’s given the other way.
