Hennessey powered Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat breaks the 1000 hp mark
If you thought the 707 hp Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat was a touch too wild, American-tuner Hennessey, makers of the renowned Venom GT, has had a go at it, and taken its power ratings to 4-digits.
The Hennessey-powered Charger Hellcat produces a monstrous 1032 hp and 1340 Nm of torque. The power is put down at the crank by the same 6.2-litre supercharged V8, however, the engine has been fitted with two turbochargers. The resulting power enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-100 kph in 2.7 seconds. Keep pushing it, and it takes just 9.9 seconds to hit 229 kph.
Hennessey also adds a high-flow air-to-water intercooler, dual-turbo wastegates, stouter fuel injectors, fuel pump and a redesigned fuel system. Alongside this, the chassis and the engine management system have been recalibrated to cope with the added stress. The Hennessey-powered Hellcat will also come with numbered plaques signed by the technician who builds the car, and John Hennessey- the boss!
Pricing of adding the Hennessey pack is said to be around US$ 55,000. Hennessey does offer other packs for the Charger Hellcat such as the HP850. Maybe a few will make its way to the UAE, Saudi Arabia or some other GCC country.
