BMW M3 2018 subtly refreshed

Right after spicing up their 4-series range, it was quite obvious that BMW will turn their attention towards the 3-series. Now they have given the range-topping M3 the same treatment. BMW gave it a refresh quite recently in May 2015 and this refresh gives it nothing but a small nip and tuck.

The new M3 sports the same updated fascia as the new 4-Series. The new LED headlights and fog lamps from the 4-Series are carried over with the new air intakes and rear apron. At the rear, it sports the new set of tail lamps. The pictures show off the M3 in a Tanzanite Blue shade, which is already available with the existing 3-Series range.

Under the hood, there are no changes though. The bi-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six will continue doing its duty of dishing out 431 hp to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. An optional Competition Package will up the power to 450 hp and this will enable the M3 to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 4 seconds. Apart from the power hike, the Competition Package also adds a re-tuned adaptive M Suspension, exclusive 20-inch alloys, an M exhaust system and a pair of lightweight sports seats.

The new model will go on sale internationally after the summer of 2017. Expect a UAE, KSA and GCC-wide debut by around the same time.
