2018 Skoda Kodiaq Scout variant debuts, coming to UAE

A few months ago, Skoda released the Kodiaq SUV, and now they have revealed a Scout version. Skoda gives the Scout treatment to taut up their cars to take some mild beating when they are off the road.

Aesthetically, the Scout looks different from the standard version courtesy of the front and back silver underbody protection and the unique 19-inch wheel design. A few Scout badges are plastered on the car to let people know that it’s no ordinary Kodiaq.

The Kodiaq Scout will have all-wheel-drive as standard along with a raised ride height. A Rough Road package will protect the underbody, engine brake and fuel lines of the car. The Scout also comes with Off-Road Assist and Driving Mode Select system which lets the driver choose between Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual and Snow modes. The selectable drive mode will govern the settings of the engine power steering, automatic transmission and air-conditioning.

The Skoda Kodiaq Scout is powered by a list of engines that includes a base 1.4-litre TSI engine with 150 hp which propels the SUV from 0-100 kph in 9.8 seconds. The premium 2.0-litre TSI produces 180 hp to slash 1.8 seconds off the 0-100 time at 8 seconds flat.

The Skoda Kodiaq Scout will be displayed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The Kodiaq range itself will debut in the UAE and other GCC countries by summer this year.
