So we got a 2017 Geely Emgrand X7 Sport
The name doesn’t quite roll off the tongue, but then again, most car names don’t nowadays. The Geely Emgrand X7 Sport is the latest player from China to take on the Middle East crossover market. And it’s probably the closest in terms of killing the Made-in-China stereotype.
The styling is actually handsome. Some may say it is derivative, but we don’t see it copying anything other than the two-box SUV shape, and using modern design cues that are in vogue nowadays. Geely is keen to point out that it was designed by Peter Horbury, a British designer from Volvo.
But the good stuff lies inside, with extensive use of soft-touch surfaces, actual metal bits and premium-looking leather. The tech isn’t bad either.
In fact, this latest Geely is the best model they have so far. However, it still lacks somewhat in terms of drive. More on that in the full review.

The rear looks a terrible lot like the new Edge or even the ecosport.
