2017 Nissan Titan King Cab expands pickup truck range
Nissan rolled out the single and crew cab versions of its full-size Titan pickup a few months ago for the American market. At the 2017 Chicago Motor Show, they added a King Cab version to act as an intermediate option.
Generally known as the quad-cab body style, the 2017 Titan King Cab pickup has four doors, but the rear set of doors are small suicide units that open backwards. This opens up to some space at the back for children and average-sized adults. The rear seat is split 60/40 and the seat bottoms can also be folded upwards to reveal some strategically placed cubby holes. You can also opt to remove the rear seat entirely to carve out a protected area to keep some precious cargo instead of leaving them in the exposed cargo bed.
The bed at the back is a 6.5-foot long unit which has a payload of 743 kg. The towing capacity is similar to that of the other versions, at 4268 kg. The tougher XD version has a max towing capacity of 5674 kg with the diesel and a max payload of 1229 kg with the petrol model.
Engines include a 5.6-litre 390 hp petrol V8 and an XD exclusive 5.0-litre Cummins V8 diesel that produce 310 hp and 752 Nm. A 7-speed auto box is coupled with the petrol engine on both models while the diesel is mated to a 6-speed auto.
The 2017 Nissan Titan King Cab will arrive at U.S. showrooms soon. It remains to be seen if the new Titan comes to the GCC, as there was some talk that that local dealers were somewhat interested in introducing the model here.
