Mitsubishi Pajero 2011-2016 power figures “corrected” by UAE dealer

Al Habtoor Motors, the UAE dealer for Mitsubishi, has announced that they had incorrectly states the horsepower figures on 2011 to 2016 Pajero 3.8 models.

According to Carmagram, apparently the dealer is admitting to not updating their brochures and owner’s manuals for the 3.8-litre variant of the Pajero. The Pajero, which is remained virtually unchanged since 2007 but receives minor updates from time to time, was advertised as having 247 hp (250PS) in 3.8-litre V6 automatic form, but it actually has 236 hp after some changes were made to the exhaust system to reduce noise. A manual 3.8-litre is also mentioned, dropped in from 235 hp to 228 hp, although we’re not sure if any manual versions were offered beyond fleet sales.

The fact that 2011+ Pajeros are more quiet has been confirmed by our resident offroad man Vivek “Pajero” Menon who used to own one as part of our long-term fleet and tried out several versions of them.

The announcement adds that the “typing error” does not affect rated fuel economy, and the cars still comply with GCC standards.
