W Motors showroom opens in Dubai, Fenyr SuperSport and Iconiq debuts

W Motors has finally opened an official showroom in Dubai, at City Walk near Sheikh Zayed Road. It will also serve as a showroom for Chinese partners Iconiq Motors.

During the private opening event, the global premiere of the W Motors Fenyr SuperSport, in its final production version, was held. Designed by W Motors and engineered by Magna Steyr Italy and RUF Automobile Germany, the Fenyr SuperSport “focuses mainly on performance, speed and driving pleasure without compromising its inherited luxury.”

Powered by an 800 hp flat-6 3.8-litre twin turbo engine with 1,000 Nm of torque and a 7-speed double-clutch transmission, the Fenyr can do the 0-100 kph run in less than 2.7 seconds and a top speed exceeding 400 kph, as claimed by W Motors.

Also held was the regional premiere of the Iconiq Seven in Premium and VIP editions after their debut at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year. Designed by the W Motors design studio in Dubai and built by Iconiq Motors in China, the two fully-electric luxury MPVs are developed “around the passenger with the purpose of bringing the latest in comfort and connectivity.”

In addition, the infamous Fast and Furious 7 Lykan HyperSport was also exhibited in the showroom.

Both partners also unveiled a scale model of the L5 Autonomous Concept, targeted for Expo 2020 in Dubai. This autonomous vehicle, which is currently in its development stage through the help of engineering and technology companies such as AKKA Technologies along with several other multinational partners, will be launched in mid-2018 in a first-demonstration version, to be fully functional for the most anticipated Expo 2020.

Founded in 2012, W Motors is touted as the “first developer of high-performance luxury sports cars in the Gulf,” catering to “Ultra High Net Worth” individuals. Based in Dubai, the company’s vision is to become a “fully integrated high-performance luxury sports car producer with activities ranging from car design and research to development and manufacturing.”
