2019 Ford Ranger Raptor revealed with 210 hp

The Raptor version of the Ford F-150 was an aggressive take on the pickup. The Raptor was revered as an off-road racing machine and it became very popular among enthusiasts. Now Ford has instilled the Raptor DNA on the Ranger as well.

The performance-oriented truck is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo 4-cylinder diesel that churns out 210 hp and 500 Nm of torque. These may not sound a lot but the Raptor is 14 hp and 30 Nm stronger than the normal Ranger’s 3.2-litre Duratorq diesel engine. The power is channeled to all four wheels through the tried and tested 10-Speed automatic transmission developed jointly by Ford and GM.

The suspension setup of the Raptor is also impressive with a bespoke Fox suspension unit up front and a coil over Watts Link rear setup. The 17-inch wheels are shod with BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires. The ground clearance of the Raptor has been increased to 11.1 inches and additional underbody protection has been added.

The Ranger Raptor was developed in Australia and the specs are tailored to the continent’s unique market. Whether it will make it to the UAE, Saudi Arabia or other GCC markets seems highly unlikely.
