2018 KTM X-Bow GT4 revealed
KTM’s track tool, the X-Bow GT4 has been given an update for the 2018 racing season Stemming from the joint venture between KTM AND Reiter Engineering, this track-only machine comes with more speed and improved reliability.
Power for the GT4 comes from a 2.0 TFSI petrol engine, the roots of which extend to Audi. The output of this engine is 360 hp and 700 Nm which, when coupled with the light-weight body (999 kg), gives the X-Bow GT4 immense pace. Improvements over the previous model include a new Motec Engine control unit, electronic fuse box, LMP spec headrest and a racing spec harness.
The 2018 KTM X-Bow GT4 has the upcoming VLN endurance championship in its crosshairs and Reiter Engineering vouches for the car by saying that none of the competition is quicker and cheaper than the GT4. They’ve worked on the reliability as well. The Holinger transmission sported by the GT4 will last for 10,000 kilometers which is double the average mileage survived by other gearboxes in the championship. Other updated components like bits of the chassis, central locking wheel hubs and wishbones can take the torture up to 20,000 kms.
