2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition to celebrate 60th birthday
The Toyota Land Cruiser has been around for the last 60 years. During these years, Toyota’s SUV garnered a bulletproof reputation, unlike any other SUV, especially in the Middle East. So, to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of their trusty off-roader, Toyota debuts the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition, at least in the United States market.
The Heritage Edition of the Land Cruiser carries mostly visual updates. The 18-inch BBS wheels are shaded Bronze and the grille up front gets black inserts. Similar dark trim can be found around the headlamps and the fog lamps. Vintage Land Cruiser logos replace the modern ones. There are only two colour options, namely Midnight Black Metallic or Blizzard Pearl. The running boards and lower body mouldings make an exit on this model to amp up its off-road dynamics.
Inside, the Black leather upholstery gets Bronze stitching. There are custom floor mats and a cargo liner. The ugly last row of seats are also taken out, leaving the Heritage Edition a 5-seater SUV.
Under the hood, the Heritage Edition gets the same old 5.7-litre V8 churning out 380 hp that gets channeled through an eight-speed automatic gearbox to a full-time 4WD system.
The 2020 Land Cruiser Heritage Edition debuted at the 2019 Chicago Motor Show running this month. Only 1200 of these will be built for the U.S. market.
