2020 Lincoln Corsair is the replacement for the MKC

Adding to the crossover commotion, Lincoln adds another model to their lineup to replace the MKC. Dubbed the Lincoln Corsair, the new 2020 model will form the stepping stone to the luxury SUV range.

As the smallest in the family, the 2020 Lincoln Corsair takes design cues from the bigger Lincoln Aviator, Nautilus and Navigator models. Even though the Corsair shares the platform with the new Ford Escape, the significance is negligible. The design, in true Lincoln fashion, is elegant and looks much more upmarket than the Ford.

Inside the Corsair, the same feel gets resonated. There is an 8.0-inch touchscreen standard across all variants for the infotainment system. An optional 12.3-inch driver information system is also provided. The leather-upholstered seats come with 24-way power adjustments and massaging functions. The opulence of the cabin is further enhanced by a large panoramic sunroof.

Lincoln’s regular suite of safety features is offered as standard with the Corsair as well, which includes lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and automatic high beams. Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Park Assist, and Reverse Brake Assist are all offered as options. Corsair’s phone-as-key technology allows the customers to use their phone as a key for the car.

Speaking of the oily bits, the 2020 Lincoln Corsair will have a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine as standard which makes 250 hp and 373 Nm. An optional 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine bumps the outputs up to 280 hp and 420 Nm. A plug-in-hybrid is on the way but Lincoln has been tight-lipped about it.

Expect the Corsair to reach UAE, KSA and other GCC markets by early summer next year.

  1. Is it me, or is it really underpowered? The thing seems to be way above the 2.2 tons, and you give it a 250 hp / 4 cylinders / 250 Nm ONLY?
