The Mopar brand debuted six modified vehicle creations at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Some of these cars were created to highlight the possibilities with Mopar accessories and aftermarket parts, while others were created to get feedback on future accessory offerings. The all-new generation of the Mini Countryman has made its first web appearance before its world premiere at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, this November. The new 2017 Countryman is a bigger, more versatile and even has a plug-in hybrid model in the range – the first for the brand.
Volvo has unveiled a top-of-the-line luxury model dubbed the S90 Excellence in Shanghai, in advance of its first public appearance at the Guangzhou Motor Show 2016 in China. The S90 Excellence will be built in Volvo Cars’ facility in Daqing, China and exported globally.
Volkswagen’s crossover range always had some room at the top for a large seven seater SUV. Now the German manufacturer has made a step to fill that void with the VW Atlas. The American-made large SUV comes with seven seats and two punchy engines. The Atlas will also be the second VW product to be produced at the company’s Chattanooga, Tennessee plant, after the Passat.
Toyota’s motorsports division TRD has showcased one monster of a Land Cruiser at the Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas which theoretically hopes to knock the Bentley Bentayga off its roost as the fastest SUV in the world.
We attended this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas, Nevada last week, courtesy of Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles. Better known as SEMA, it is arguably the largest tuner show in the world, although it is strictly a trade show, although it’s pretty crowded even without the general public being allowed in. The American brands were the most strongly represented on the show floor, followed by the Japanese, with a few dabbling in European and Korean makes. The stands generally consisted of aftermarket suppliers, tuning and restoration garages, wheel manufacturers and accessories outfits, among others. Audi was present and well at the Paris Motor Show 2016, and with them they brought the fastest and most powerful model in the A3 line-up, the Audi RS3 sedan. It also has the privilege of being the first compact sedan from Audi to adorn the RS nameplate.
Ferrari unveiled a successor to the FF, the GTC4Lusso, earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. Powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.2-litre V12, the GTC4Lusso originally debuted as the fastest four-seater in the world. Now, the V12 powered GTC4 has been given some company in the form of a new Turbo V8 model, the GTC4Lusso T.
