The 2010 Abu Dhabi International Motor Show is nearing its opening date. Set to run from the 7th to the 11th of December at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, it will be open to the public from 5 pm on the first day. Various new cars will be launched for the first time at the show, with tickets costing Dhs 20.
General Motors Middle East has announced that they will be revealed three new 4×4 models at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Motor Show, namely the 2011 GMC Acadia Denali trim package, the all-new 2011 GMC Terrain, and the facelifted 2011 Chevrolet Captiva.

Land Rover has revealed the 5-door version of the Range Rover Evoque crossover ahead of its physical debut at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. Specs are about the same as the 3-door version, but the Tata-owned British firm says the 5-door is 30 mm taller than the 3-door “coupe” model.

So General Motors went bankrupt, and part of its effort to save itself was to sell loss-making Saab to any schmuck who’d buy it. Spyker came along and bought it, so now they have a handful of new models with GM platforms that the General had pretty much finished developing before selling off the brand. Now the Swedish firm is debuting the new 2012 Saab 9-4X, based on the Cadillac SRX platform, at next month’s 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The 2010 Sharjah Auto Show is running from the 14th till the 18th of October, and this year was a better outing, with new model displays such as the BMW 316i, the Infiniti M, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Sterling Moss Edition, the Cadillac CTS Coupe, the Mitsubishi ASX, the Nissan Qashqai and the Audi R8 Spyder. Also special were a tuner car section, a classic car section, a remote control car section, a drifting show and an off-road demo. And the Middle East Motor Awards, the first such event to span the region, was concluded with an awards ceremony for the judges as well as the winners.
BMW used the 2010 Sharjah Auto Show to launch the 2011 BMW 316iA in the UAE. The 316iA is a new base model for the wide-ranging 3-Series line-up, to offer “poorer” buyers a chance to buy a proper BMW sedan at an affordable price instead of being forced to squeeze into a 1-Series hatchback.
