Audi’s slinky A7 Sportback has carved a small but solid niche for itself since its 2010 launch, targeting buyers who want the space and functionality of a large sedan, yet aren’t keen on the formulaic three-box proportions that come with the traditional four-door format.
After the Evora GT430 and the faster Evora GT430 Sport, Lotus revealed another limited edition car from their stable called Lotus Elise Cup 260 recently. The production of this puny little car is limited to just 30 units worldwide. Just like the GT430 Evoras, the Elise Cup 260 banks on aerodynamics and lightness to improve its performance.
The current generation of the entry-level Mercedes-Benz A-Class is the third one in its timeline. This generation turned the quirky old A-Class into a well-proportioned hatchback. But with several lacklustre years under its belt, it was getting old and Mercedes has brought out a new one. They’ve taken the covers off a sharper A-Class which ticks all the right geek boxes, if not the enthusiast ones.
Porsche recently opened the Porsche Studio in Beirut, a first for the region. Similar to “Porsche on Sylt” and the “Porsche Studio Guangzhou”, the new site in the Lebanese capital adopts an innovative sales format, which enables the sports car manufacturer to interact with a wide spectrum of target groups. It is imperative that after Mercedes Benz revealed the 2019 G-Class, their in-house tuning division AMG lay their hands on it and come up with a bunch of high-performance models. The new Ferrari 812 Superfast is the fastest regular-production car to come out of Maranello. It is quick enough to keep up with the LaFerrari up to the 100 kph mark, and outright beat the Enzo. Just a few years ago, hybrids were regarded as boring. Now though, things have changed. Pure petrolheads may still frown at them, but the fact remains that many hybrids of the present are fast cars. So when Mercedes Benz came up with the mild-hybrid CLS model, their in-house nuts, AMG, decided to play with hybrids to add more speed to them. Thereby we witness the inception of the AMG 53 range.
The Jetta had been a very successful product in the VW portfolio ever since it was first launched in 1979, even if it’s not particularly common on GCC streets. In the U.S. alone, VW managed to sell 3.2 million Jettas in this time period. Now, at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show, the sedan walked into its 7th generation with sleeker styling, a new platform and a completely overhauled interior.
