Range Rovers have grown sleeker with every year since the Evoque was launched. In Land Rover’s quest to fill every market niche, there is a new model between the sub-compact Evoque and the midsize Sport that will be called the Range Rover Velar.
Mansory occasionally dishes out some seriously bonkers machines and now it`s no different. They have laid their hands on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 to give the off-roader a good Mansory special before it gets replaced in 2018.
It’s a bit early for gags, but this is a classic case of thinking outside the box. Say hello to Land Rover’s fifth-generation Discovery, which does away with the boxy (but characterful) shape of its predecessors in favour of softer, more tapered lines that its makers hope will attract a broader customer base to the model.
Arguably, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class reached its peak back in the 1980s, when it wasn’t even called the E-Class. Comprising of models such as the all-rounder 300E, the handbuilt-by-Porsche 500E and the aftermarket-tuned AMG Hammer among others, the German carmaker’s W124-generation sedan was iconic. Unfortunately, right after this model was discontinued in 1995 after an 11-year run, Mercedes-Benz entered an era of confused designs and cost-cutting measures that didn’t subside until more than a decade later. Now, four generations later, there is an all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but does it have what it takes to become an icon again?
Skoda revealed the new Octavia RS 245, which is set to debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. This model adds another likable trait to Octavia’s portfolio — speed. This version is power packed with a lot of horses and is available in liftback and wagon body styles.
Jaguar has announced changes to their 2018 F-Pace, XE and XF models, including a new “Ingenium” 4-cylinder engine for all three models. It replaces the older 4-cylinder Ecoboost-derived turbo motor that was bummed off of Ford and did duty in the base XE, the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque. Expect the latter two to get the new engine soon.
While emission regs keep digging a grave for the glorious naturally-aspirated V12 engine, Ferrari has decided to give its flagship V12 engine one last shot. For this, they have completely overhauled their flagship supercar the F12 Berlinetta to produce the new 812 Superfast.
When it comes to the list of the most gorgeous cars, the Italian manufacturer Pagani is up there. The Zonda was replaced by the Huayra a few years ago. And now the latter is taking its top off for Geneva. The Pagani Huayra Roadster will be revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks MENA, together with Emirates Motor Company (EMC), its authorised distributor in Abu Dhabi, have launched a special edition Actros truck in the UAE, in celebration of the model’s 20th anniversary. The media launch event at Endurance City included a live demonstration of the Actros 3844 S 6×4 tractor-head model.
Answering yet another question that nobody asked, the Mercedes-Maybach division — responsible for ordinary building more opulent versions of slightly less-opulent Mercedes models — now has a third model after the S-Class sedan and coupe. The next candidate for the Maybach treatment is the iconic G-Wagen. Mercedes-Maybach has shown off a luxurious Landaulet model christened the G650.
