Cadillac, the premium luxury brand of General Motors, will enter the compact car segment; with the all-new model “ATS”. Designed to take on premium competition like the Mercedes C-class and BMW 3 series, the ATS is based on the new Alpha platform, which will simultaneously underpin the next generation Chevrolet Camaro.
So MINI is not really elated about their existing line-up comprising various sizes ranging from sub-compacts to crossovers, but all based on the same design – and probably this gave birth to their all new “super-compact” MINI Coupe. The performance focused Coupe is engineered to deliver the thrills of a go-kart and achieve performance figures which makes it the sportiest MINI ever.

You may have heard by now that Audi has launched their Mini-wannabe model, the A1, in the UAE. Armed with a 122 hp 1.4-litre “TFSI” engine, women and girly-men are being lured by various promotional activities for the A1, including product placements around malls, big billboards on the streets, and overly-positive “reviews” in local magazines. Scion — Toyota’s pointless “youth brand” exclusively present in the U.S. market — has lifted covers off their latest FR-S Sports Coupe Concept at the 2011 New York Auto Show. The FR-S Coupe Concept is based on the Toyota FT-86 Concept and even looks somewhat the same.
Lexus has unveiled the all new LF-Gh hybrid concept at the 2011 New York International Auto Show. According to Lexus, this concept is designed to be a high-performance luxury grand touring sedan while also being able to deliver supreme driving experience, and being as efficient and as “green” in its emission levels as possible.
Rumours persist that Toyota wants to bring back its iconic sports car, the Supra. Not to be mistaken with company’s upcoming model, FT-86, the plan was initially to release both side by side, although now it looks like it will possibly happen further down the line.
General Motors has been releasing stupid “teaser” photos online of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu in a bid to get multiple stories out of insipid bloggers. However, the first full photo of the redesigned Malibu has been leaked, although it is very likely GM “leaked” it themselves for publicity.
This is the concept version of the 2012-2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class. If you recall, the A-Class is the German carmaker’s smallest model that flopped in the GCC a decade ago, but continued to thrive in the European market. It looks like the A-Class is ditching its dorky height and gaining some length soon.
This is the 2012 Nissan Tiida, as seen in Chinese-spec trim. It looks much better than the current model, and now has a longer wheelbase than the Honda Civic, putting it firmly in the compact category, larger than the current sub-compact.
