McLaren Automotive outlines Middle East plans

McLaren Automotive has released more details about its expectations for, the Middle East market, where it will launch the first in its range of high performance sports cars from spring 2011. The announcement follows the world debut of the new McLaren MP4-12C at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, England, where the two most recent Formula 1 world champions, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, unveiled the new car.

Kia Motors posts increase in February global sales

Kia Motors Corporation announced today its global sales figures for passenger cars (export sales, domestic sales and sales from overseas plants), recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles for February 2010, recording a total of 143,267 units sold. This figure represents a year-on-year increase of 39.5%.

BMW Group increases sales in February

The BMW Group once again improved sales volumes substantially in February of this year. A total of 91,758 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce automobiles were delivered to customers (prev. yr. 80,474) – representing an increase of 14.0%. The figure for the year to the end of February was 173,911 units – 15.3% higher than the previous year (150,893).

TAG Heuer hosts first ice race in Middle East

The iconic Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer, long associated with racing and performance, is introducing a new thrilling event to the Dubai sports calendar. The TAG Heuer Ice Race, which will see drivers compete in a karting race on ice, will take centre stage at the Dubai Mall Ice Rink on April 2-3, 2010. It is the first time such an event takes place in the Middle East.
