To maintain exclusivity from your average Mondeo, Ford is resurrecting their long shelved brand ‘Vignale’ that they acquired in 1969 during their venture with DeTomaso Automobili. And apart from the name and a few tags, you’ll be getting a few goodies to go with it. The new Mondeo Vignale was revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show a few weeks back.
A company in the United States has started manufacturing a 1965 Ford Mustang pool table. The company co-founder Tony Utegaard claims this product helps Mustang fans to “enjoy their favorite car at home or on the road”.
While tuners nowadays painstakingly recreate exact replicas of classic cars from the olden days, it is a rare sight to see someone swerve off track to build a classic vehicle directly from their vision as to how it would look in the future. And while the car we are talking about is a Ford GT, what we have here may also look like an adaptation from Shelby’s GR-1 concept from 2005. It’s called the Galpin Ford GTR-1 and it was officially unveiled in Prototype at the Concept Lawn of Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, which is held in Monterey, California.
Having a vehicle with a separate CNG kit installed isn’t new. But apparently the good news is that Ford is setting heavy-duty engine components into select 3.7-litre V6s to allow them to run on compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) in addition to petrol!
The Ford Escape used to be the meanest-looking crossover around, ready to take on anything in its path. Not that it means much to be a mean-looking crossover, because it’s never going to leave the pavement. So we feel Ford made the right decision in making the Escape more “contemporary” in its styling, finally ready to take on the other pavement-pounding crossovers on equal terms.

Ford invited us to hang with their engineering team who are responsible for testing whether upcoming models can handle the hot weather that we’re blessed with in the UAE. While all three of these cars — the 2013 Ford Fusion, the 2013 Lincoln MKZ and the 2013 Ford Ecosport — are already out in some other markets, the three cars that we drove are actually early pre-production models, and not cars that were just taken from a showroom in America or elsewhere. They’re being prepared for GCC release as 2014 models later this year.
