So if you thought that the crazy automobile recall saga had ended, you were wrong. Since our last post on the recalls earlier this year, there were an insane amount of recalls that followed, from almost every car manufacturer in the world you can ever think of, almost all of them being issued following instructions from the U.S.-based NHTSA agency. And we could not bother to post each recall issue as a separate story, the task being as equally tedious as the reader-response to these. To silence all that, and just because we had the opportunity to avail the discounted DriveArabia price, we grabbed a friends’ 2007 Ford Focus for some pampering.
Ford Motor Company, Shelby American and Ford Racing have paid their tributes to the late Carroll Shelby, a legendary racer and automotive designer who is behind several of world’s iconic machines including the Shelby Cobra 427, and the Mustang-based Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500, in the form of a jointly-developed unique Mustang, called the 2013 Shelby GT500 Cobra.
Self-praising aside, DriveArabia.com is certifiably the most comprehensive and most popular consumer-focused automotive website in the GCC. That gives us a good insight on what cars people are researching these days. Mind you, researching and buying are two completely different things, but we can figure out from our data which car brands and models are generating the most buzz among the general car-buying population. It is easy to see the concerted marketing effort by certain manufacturers are paying dividends, while some are banking on their long-running earned reputation, and others are doing well purely because of good new products.
The 1967 Shelby GT500 convertible is amongst the rarest, most sought after collector cars around, and Classic Recreations have created their version of the car, one that was approved by Carroll Shelby himself before his passing.
Rally driver Ken Block is back with yet another Gymkhana video, this time taking on the streets of San Francisco. Gymkhana 5 features his Ford Fiesta rally car again in his most public drive ever.
